铜管辛辛那提大学音乐学院

Brass

辛辛那提音乐学院每年给学生们提供近1000场演出机会，铜管系同时也为学生们提供了国际知名教师。

铜管的专业方向为：小号、长号、大号、悠风号和圆号。毕业生可以利用这个学校脉络，开始他们自己的职业生涯，独奏，室内乐音乐家和知名交响乐团的演奏者，以及在国内或者国外学校教学。铜管系还设有：Horn Studio、Trombone Studio、Trumpet Studio

 现任铜管教师有：

Timothy Anderson

Timothy Anderson在任教于辛辛那提大学音乐学院之前曾任教于University of Dayton和Cedarville University。目前也是戴顿爱乐乐团的长号首席，曾担任Richmond Symphony Orchestra的长号首席。最近的演出包括了Richmond Symphony Orchestra、克利夫兰歌剧院、克利夫兰芭蕾舞团和西弗吉尼亚交响乐团。

同时他也是一位活跃的室内乐演奏家，与多个知名室内乐团均有合作关系，比如：Carillon Brass、ProMusica Chamber Orchestra、Westwind Brass、Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra、Columbus Symphony Brass Quintet等。

Denise Kay Tryon

Denise是一位颇有成就的表演者和教育家，自2007年以来一直担任皮博迪音乐学院的圆号教授，在此之前她也是费城交响乐团的第四圆号，除此之外，她也在底特律交响乐团、巴尔的摩交响乐团任职。

Denise毕业于新英格兰音乐学院，并取得音乐学学士学位，并在她深造艺术家文凭期间获得了校长奖学金。

作为一名活跃的教育家，她也经常在各地开展大师班，学生们说道：“只要她听一个学生吹奏几秒钟，就能判断出深层次的问题，并立即给予指导。“

硕士和博士：

1、Etude: One etude of your choice from Bordogni/Rochut Melodious Etudes, Vol. 2

2、Etude: One characteristic study of your choice from Arban/ Bowman Complete Conservatory Method

3、Solo: David Gillingham Blue Lake Fantasies, movements 1,2 and 3 only

4、Solo: Joseph Horowitz Concerto for Euphonium,movements 1 and 2 only (without piano)

Horn：

所有申请者都需要提交Pre-screeing：

1、J.F. Gallay: Etude No. 7 from 12 Etudes for Second Horn, Op. 57, AND

Horn-BM：

1、Two etudes in contrasting styles by Kopprasch, Gallay or Maxime-Alphonse (Book II–IV)

2、All major scales

Performance majors (bachelor of music) must also prepare the first movement of a Mozart or Strauss concerto, or solo of comparable difficulty from the standard repertoire as well as orchestral excerpts from:

1、Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. 5, mvt. 2, horn 1, OR

2、Mendelssohn: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, nocturne,horn 1 and Strauss Till Eulenspiegel, opening calls,horn 1, OR

3、Beethoven: Symphony No. 3, scherzo trio, horn 2

Concentration and secondary applicants (music education or bachelor of arts degree). 

In addition to the etudes and scales:

1、Glière, Intermezzo, OR
2、Glazunov, Reverie, OR
3、Solo of comparable difficulty

Horn – MM：

1、A complete major solo work from the standard repertoire 

2、Five orchestral excerpts from the standard repertoire which must include:

1）Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. 5, mvt. 2, horn 1 2）Strauss: Till Eulenspiegel, opening calls, horn 1

3） Mahler: Symphony No. 5, scherzo, horn obbligato, 8 measures after rehearsal #10-11

Horn – DMA：

1、Two complete major solo works from the standard repertoire of contrasting stylistic periods

2、Ten orchestral excerpts from the standard repertoire which must include those works on the MM list with the addition of:

1）Shostakovich: Symphony No. 5, mvt. 1, low tutti passage 

2）Wagner: Siegfried’s Rhine Journey, short call, horn 1 

3）Strauss: Ein Heldenleben, opening passage, horn 1

Horn – AD：

1、Two complete major solo works from the standard repertoire of contrasting stylistic periods, and one solo for unaccompanied horn from the 20th or 21st centuries.

2、Twelve orchestral excerpts from the standard repertoire which must include those works on the MM and DMA lists with the addition of:

1）Beethoven: Symphony No. 7, mvt. 1, exposition call, horn 1 

2）Strauss: Don Quixote, variation VII, horn 4
3）Ravel: Pavane for a Dead Princess, horn 1

Trumpet

BM要求：

1、Applicants should perform only on B-flat and/or C trumpets.

Applicants must prepare the following (in any order that works best for you):

1、Etude: H. Voxman Selected Studies, pg. 3 OR Arban Characteristic Study No. 1 (on B-flat trumpet)

2、Etude: One Concone Lyrical Study or equivalent (choose one that accurately reflects your abilities)

3、Solo: One movement of a standard solo work OR 5-6 minutes from a single movement work

现场面试要求：

Applicants should perform only on B-flat and/or C trumpets

1、Two etudes in contrasting style that accurately reflects your abilities.

2、One solo of the applicant’s choice.

3、Solo: Concerto in E-flat, Haydn OR Hummel, mvt. 1 only.

4、Up to three standard orchestral excerpts.

MM, AD, DMA的Per-Screeing要求：

1、Etude: Charlier Etude No. 2.

2、Etude: Etude No. 8 from Brandt Orchestra Etudes.
3、Solo: One movement of a standard solo work OR 5-8 minutes from a single-movement work.

4、Three standard orchestral excerpts

2、One major solo of the applicant’s choice

1、All major scales two octaves with arpeggios
2、Any form of minor scales one octave with arpeggios
3、A standard solo from the tenor trombone repertoire of substantive musical and technical value

4、A technical study from Kopprasch, Blazevich, Arban or equivalent

5、A lyrical study from Rochut or equivalent • The following orchestral excerpts:

1）Berlioz: Hungarian March (First or second trombone) 

2）Mozart: Tuba Mirum from Requiem (Second trombone solo) 

3）Wagner: Ride of the Valkyries, major only (First or second trombone)

3、Solo:Hartley Suite for Unaccompanied Tuba,movements1 and 4 only

4、Solo: J. S. Bach/Bell Air and Bourree or solo of comparable difficulty (without piano)

MM, AD, DMA要求：

1、Etude: Snedecor Low Etudes No. 5
2、Etude: One etude of your choice from Kopprasch Sixty Selected Studies for Tuba

3、Solo: Persichetti Serenade No. 12 for Solo Tuba movements 1, 5 and 6 only

4、Solo: Penderecki Capriccio, pages 1 and 2 only
