经济学
明德学院经济学专业必须选修六门核心课程，这六门课程由三个、两个学期组成：介绍性宏观经济学和微观经济学；统计和回归分析的数量序列；以及宏观和微观经济理论。此外，专业必须至少选修四门选修课，其中两门必须是高级研讨班。
政治科学与政府学
因为许多显然不在“政治”之内的事情可以变得与政治非常相关，政治学也涉及许多其他学科，采用多种方法，并且使广泛的学生感兴趣。因此，政治学是明德学院最受欢迎的专业之一。一些学生学习政治科学是因为他们在政治或学术领域寻找职业；另一些学生学习政治学以获得更多关于这一人类中心问题的知识。因此，该课程旨在培养学生的学科，揭示政治的可能性，满足有思想的公民的要求，并让那些打算在研究生院或职业学校继续深造的学生做好准备。
环境研究
明德学院环境研究计划成立于1965，是美国最早的本科专业课程。该专业汇集了来自不同方向的学者和学生团体，他们跨越校园的24个系，研究人与环境的关系。由十名核心教职员工和四十名附属教职员工一起提供跨学科的专业和辅修课程。该专业拥有900多名毕业生，明德校友在环境领域工作，如企业家、科学家、决策者、学者、顾问、教师、志愿者、活动家和非营利组织的创始人。
