宾州州立匹兹堡大学密歇根州立等学校加入CommonApp网申系统

当地时间4月10日，美国本科网申系统The Common Application（简称CommonApp）宣布，超过30所美国及国际高等院校作为新成员加入其申请系统。从现在开始，同学们不必再使用这些学校单独的网申系统，可以在CommonApp中统一提交，大大节省了申请的时间成本，从而提高申请效率。此次新加入的学校中，Top 100的院校包括宾州州立大学（#52）、匹兹堡大学（#68）、爱荷华大学（#78）、密歇根州立大学（#81）和佛罗里达州立大学（#81）。

CommonApp建立于1975年，是美国大学本科入学网上申请的一站式网站，也是一个非营利组织。它的使命是帮助申请人（包括美国本土和国际申请人）一次性、一站式地进行原本繁琐的大学申请流程（如提交高中成绩单、推荐信以及文书等）。它倡导全面评估申请人的成就和潜力，平衡了主观（如留学文书，推荐信，课外活动）与客观（如GPA，SAT/ACT/TOEFL成绩）考察因素。

2018-2019年，CommonApp网申系统涵盖的美国高等院校（包括少部分国际院校）超过800所。这个强大的线上申请平台将会帮助超过300万名来自全球的申请者、老师和咨询顾问，简化本科申请过程。至今为止，加入CommonApp的高等院校覆盖美国49个州及全球19个国家，其中包括超过160所公立院校和65所国际院校。

今年早些时候，CommonApp官方宣布2018-2019年的美国大学本科申请essay题目，不同于以往文书题目都会有微调，今年的文书题目完全保留2017-2018的文书题目，没有任何改动。即将申请Fall 2019美国本科的同学们可以提前准备起来啦。

2018-2019年CommonApp文书题目

1. Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.

2. The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?

3. Reflect on a time when you questioned or challenged a belief or idea. What prompted your thinking? What was the outcome?

4. Describe a problem you’ve solved or a problem you’d like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma – anything that is of personal importance, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took or could be taken to identify a solution.

5. Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others.

6. Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more?

7. Share an essay on any topic of your choice. It can be one you’ve already written, one that responds to a different prompt, or one of your own design.
