舞蹈留学丨凯斯西储大学舞蹈MFA全解析

凯斯西储大学（Case Western Reserve University）是美国一所私立研究型大学、一级国家级大学，位于俄亥俄州的克里夫兰，同时也是北美大学联盟62所顶尖研究型大学较早期的成员之一，在北美洲有相当的名望。历来以极度严谨的学风，极度严苛的课程和杰出的研究闻名，是俄亥俄州名副其实的第一学府。

在这里的学习生活也是一刻不能松懈，因为Case对学生的综合能力和素质都有着极高的要求，课程设置里囊括编导课、技巧课（现代和芭蕾）、舞蹈历史课、教学法，更有灯光设计、服装设计及裁制，解剖学、营养学、音乐韵律课等等。

Case 的MFA项目是美国仅剩的一个将“音乐韵律课（Eurhythmics）”作为必修课的项目，因为院长希望舞者与音乐家合作时能更加专业地表达自己。另外学院十分注重解剖学和营养学，每年必定会有学生和教师代表参加全球舞蹈医学科学盛事IADMS（International Association for Dance Medicine & Science）。

对比起其它学院的MFA项目或是侧重于当代舞蹈和即兴，或是侧重于科技与舞蹈的结合，Case对于舞蹈技巧和编排技法的训练较为传统和学院派，着重舞蹈中最基础，最核心部分的训练。

对MFA学位的毕业要求包括：

1、A minimum of 60 semester hours of graduate work beyond the bachelor’s degree

2、A cumulative grade point average of 3.0 for all course work on the graduate level

3、Completion of the course requirements for the MFA Thesis Portfolio

4、Successful completion of the third year in performance in the Mather Dance Center mainstage season

申请要求：托福90，雅思7.0  不需要GRE

• Statement of goals which must be submitted electronically.

• DVD or commonly available electronic media of choreography and performance. Performance video can include participation in a technique class or stage performance.
