Job Description

The Department of Health Care Organization and Policy in the UAB School ofPublic Health is accepting applications for the position of Scientist tosupport its active portfolio of extramurally funded research and scholarlypractice in the area of Maternal and Child Health (MCH).

Annual Salary Range: $63,125 – $103,700

Requirements

Doctor of Philosophy, D.V.M. or M.D. degree in a related field and two (2)years of related experience OR M.D. and Master’s degree. OR Master’s degree andfour (4) years of related experience OR Bachelor’s degree and six (6) years ofrelated experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for educationrequirement.

Applicants should possess atminimum a doctoral degree in public health and have significant experience inworking with public health agencies and partners in the area of MCH. Theability to work independently and manage multiple projects is essential.

Job Description

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Virginia invitesapplications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate, who is excited about theopportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative research environment. Thesuccessful candidate will participate in research in the Venton lab measuringneurotransmitters in real time in fruit flies.

Requirements for the position include the completion of a Ph.D.degree in Chemistry, Neuroscience, or a related discipline by the appointmentstart date, and effective oral and written communication skills. The candidatemust have a working knowledge of either electrochemistry, preferably in vivovoltammetry, or fruit fly biology. Preference will be given to candidates withknowledge of genetics. The candidate is also expected to maintain a safe labculture, write research papers and grants, and help mentor undergraduates andgraduate students in the laboratory.
